SWM was founded in Milan, Italy in 1971. It was a famous European off-road motorcycle brand and won many international off-road races in the 1970s-80s. In 2014, SWM was fully acquired by **Shineray Group (Dongfang Xinyuan)**. SWM Automotive brand was officially launched in China in 2016, with a modern manufacturing plant in Fuling, Chongqing, China, annual capacity up to 300,000 vehicles. SWM stands for **Start Win More**. The brand focuses on large-space 7-seater SUVs, including gasoline and new energy models. The SWM Dahu EDi is its first extended-range electric SUV. The EDi electric drive system is jointly developed by SWM and FinDreams Powertrain. It adopts series range extender technology: wheels are always driven by electric motor, engine only generates electricity. Full tank + full battery can reach around 1000km total range. SWM vehicles have been exported to Nigeria, Angola, Uzbekistan, Peru and many other countries in Africa, Central Asia and South America.
